On May 29 and 30, the Soka Gakkai affiliated Institute of Oriental Philosophy (IOP) hosted an online academic conference. On the first day, three scholars shared different perspectives on the topic of integrating faith and reason, drawing on medieval scholastic theology and significant Czech and German Protestant theologians. The theme was inspired by President Daisaku Ikeda’s lecture titled “Scholastic Philosophy and Modern Civilization” given at Soka University in 1973. During a Q&A session, speakers discussed the role of a religious practitioner in times of crisis. On the second day, IOP research fellows presented their research.
