Buddhist Study Exam Held in Japan

Japan 2021

On August 29, some 3,000 young men from the Soka Gakkai’s Student Division in Japan took a Buddhist study exam at 144 venues across the country, marking August 31, Student Division Day. Local leaders visited the venues on the day and encouraged the participants. The exam covered the Basics of Nichiren Buddhism for the New Era of Worldwide Kosen-rufu and Nichiren’s writings “On Establishing the Correct Teaching for the Peace of the Land” and “On the Buddha’s Prophecy.” President Daisaku Ikeda’s first lecture to Student Division members was given on August 31, 1962, when he lectured on The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings.
