On September 4, the 31st Youth Summit on the Renunciation of War was held at the Soka Gakkai Kanagawa Culture Center in Yokohama, Japan. The event commemorated the 65th anniversary of second Soka Gakkai President Josei Toda’s September 8, 1957, Declaration Calling for the Abolition of Nuclear Weapons. Youth from across the country, including Hiroshima, Nagasaki and Okinawa, joined the event in person or online. President Daisaku Ikeda sent a congratulatory message encouraging the youth to construct a path of peace and humanity and to protect the right to life.
