SGI Cohosts Event on the Role of Faith Actors in the Pandemic

On March 23, the Asia Pacific Faith-Based Coalition for Sustainable Development (APFC) hosted an official side event at the eighth Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD8) joined by 40 UN and NGO participants. The theme was “The COVID-19 Pandemic in Asia and the Pacific: The Role of Faith Actors in Sustainable and Resilient Recovery.” SGI (Soka Gakkai International), a member of the coalition, co-organized the event. Two speakers commented on the important role of faith-based organizations in supporting women, low-income individuals and children who are struggling amid the pandemic.
