On July 22, the Ikeda Center for Peace, Learning, and Dialogue, an affiliate of the Soka Gakkai, hosted its inaugural Indigo Talks event online with Dr. Francyne Huckaby of Texas Christian University. Dr. Huckaby’s talk, titled: “Two Bundles of Reeds: (In)evitable Pain, (Im)possible Promise,” stressed the importance of establishing creative coexistence through dialogue and education, especially in the context of Black Lives Matter and the fight for racial justice. Nearly 200 participants joined the event from 18 countries. This new lecture series features well-known intellectuals in dialogue with enduring works by the center’s founder Daisaku Ikeda. The event can be viewed here.
