On November 15, Soka Gakkai’s Seikyo Shimbun newspaper announced that Soka Gakkai in Germany has officially been recognized as a religious organization by the government of the State of Hessen, where Soka Gakkai in Germany is headquartered. Soka Gakkai in Germany is the first Buddhist organization in the country to be certified as a corporation under public law. Religions granted this status can exercise various rights across Germany.
