On August 11, the annual “TŪMANAKO! Children’s Art Works for a Peaceful World” exhibition opened at Johnsonville Library in Wellington. Organized by SGI-New Zealand, local peace groups and educational institutions, the exhibition showcases 305 artworks by students from 14 schools and organizations. The first TŪMANAKO exhibition was held in 2015 to mark the 70th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. (The exhibition is currently suspended following the announcement of a nationwide lockdown on August 17 owing to the coronavirus.)
