In August and September, the annual exhibition “Tūmanako! Children’s Art Works for a Peaceful World” was held in venues in Auckland, Tauranga and Wellington, co-organized by SGI-New Zealand (SGINZ) and partner organizations. Centered on the theme “Nothing is more precious than peace,” which is also a quote from President Daisaku Ikeda’s writings, the exhibition showcased artworks submitted by children and young people (aged 8 to 18) on peace and a world free of nuclear weapons. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the launch of the exhibition.

On August 3, an opening event was held at the SGINZ Culture Centre in Auckland, featuring dance, musical and spoken word performances and a youth panel on peacebuilding. During the opening at the Te Ao Mārama - Tauranga Library on August 8, children shared the thinking behind their artworks, and Tauranga City Council member Rod Taylor gave a congratulatory address.
