On February 14, General Director of Soka Gakkai of Mexico Nereo Ordaz Anzurez spoke at an event commemorating the 56th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America and the Caribbean (Treaty of Tlatelolco). In conjunction with the event, the exhibition “Everything You Treasure—For a World Free From Nuclear Weapons,” jointly created by the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) and the SGI (Soka Gakkai International), was shown. On February 4, Soka Gakkai Italy’s Senzatomica antinuclear campaign hosted a talk on nuclear disarmament held at the Parco della Musica Auditorium in Rome and attended by over 1,000 youth. Scholars, journalists and members of various NGOs, including ICAN, discussed the role of youth in abolishing nuclear weapons.
